Professionally, I am interested in issues of (un)sustainable material production and consumption.
I am trained mainly in methods of industrial ecology, and to smaller extent in (data) engineering, economics, psychology, and design.
Currently, I am doing my PhD research at Utrecht University (2024-), where I study the environmental and economic trade-offs of circular economy measures for materials like steel, cement, and plastics.
I have worked at Circle Economy (2023) on assessing the state of the circular economy in countries and cities around the world. I hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (2020, Eindhoven University of Technology) and a master's degree in Sustainable Development (2022, Utrecht University).
LinksUnprofessionally, I am interested in photography. I find something absolutely incredible about freezing momentary views of your surroundings, and later looking back at these frozen views of yours and others, especially from distant pasts.
This website is an - actually the only - online display of my photos. It mainly exists as a shorthand when I want to show someone my favourite photos at a party.
AlbumsIf you are looking for (actually) inspiring, contemporary photographers, I can recommend the urban fragments of Sarah van Rij, the methodic explorations of Hayahusa Tomiyasu, and the metaphoric monochromes of Terry LaRue.
